I built Boxseat in 2009.
What's particularly interesting to me isn't when I built it, but that the Ottawa Senators are still using it today under an annual enterprise contract.
Software tends to have a relatively short shelf life. Frameworks change, interfaces get redesigned, and products get replaced by newer things that promise to do everything better.
So there's something satisfying about building a product that continues to be useful more than 15 years later.
Not every project needs to become a venture-backed company or grow into an enormous platform. Sometimes building something that solves a problem well enough that a customer continues to pay for it year after year is a pretty good outcome too.
