Flowhaus

The better way to run an interior design business.

Co-founder · Product, Design + Development · Acquired

Flowhaus started because my sister-in-law had a problem.

She was running a growing interior design firm, and the tools available to manage projects, clients, purchases, and all the moving pieces weren't particularly well suited to how interior designers actually worked.

So we built something better.

Flowhaus was a workflow and project management platform designed specifically around the way interior design firms operated. Rather than adapting generic project management software, we focused on the processes and details that made running a design business different.

It started with solving a real problem for one person, but it turned out other designers had many of the same challenges.

Eventually, Flowhaus was acquired by a Vancouver-based furniture retailer that supplied products directly to interior designers.

I've always liked projects like this. There wasn't some elaborate market thesis or an attempt to invent an entirely new category. Just a problem worth solving, a product built around the people experiencing it, and a business that saw value in the result.
